Our Mission

Pi Kappa Alpha is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience.


To fulfill this mission, Pi Kappa Alpha will:

  1. Founded in 1868 at the University of Virginia


  1. Composed of 207 chapters and 10 colonies in North America with over 240,000 members


  1. Governed by International Convention composed of mostly undergraduate chapter delegates


  1. Guided between conventions by a volunteer board of directors known as the Supreme Council


  1. Publishes a quarterly magazine, the Shield & Diamond


  1. Upholds one of the largest average chapter/colony size of any international fraternity


  1. Has maintained the largest average chapter and pledge class size for most of the past 20 years

Our Creed

We believe in the importance of virtue and commit to living the values of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. We recognize that truth is the foundation of all lasting association, and we will seek wisdom and knowledge while serving others in modesty and dignity.


Recalling that Pi Kappa Alpha is a lifelong commitment, I therefore reaffirm to live my life with honor and courage seeking the inherent worth in each person I meet; to accept all brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha in love and friendship; and to serve my faith, my family, my community, my alma mater, and my Fraternity.


Only then, by living these virtues, will we realize our fullest potential.


Our Integrity

Our Founders created Pi Kappa Alpha to attract men committed to the full development of their intellectual and personal potential.


This object requires that a community of trust exist among all brothers, along with a faithful devotion to truth and honor.
